Legendary lyricist, filmmaker and poet Gulzar released the poster of 8 AM Metro on Friday. It features Gulshan Deviah and Saiyami Kher inside a metro train.

The film is written and directed by Raj R. 8 AM Metro will release on May 19. Earlier, Raj directed the award-winning Telugu film Mallesham in 2019. Gulzar contributed six of his poems to 8 AM Metro. About the film and Gulzar's contribution, Raj says, “It’s a story of two strangers who inadvertently bump into each other in the metro and strike up an unlikely friendship, in the process finding themselves and each other. I can’t thank Gulzar Saab enough for this magnanimous gesture and feel a deep sense of gratitude towards the legend that he is.”

Saiyami plays a homemaker named Iravati. Her prosaic life in Nanded is turned upside down when she has to rush to Hyderabad to help her pregnant sister, who is confined to bed. And She then turns to Gulshan's Preetam, and through a series of journeys on the metro train, the duo find solace in each other’s company. Gulshan says that his character holds a secret that can tear them apart and what they believe in. And Saiyami also expressed her excitement to have gotten an opportunity to recite Gulzar's poetry. The film has music by Mark K Robin, and it features songs written by Kausar Munir, and sung by artists like Jubin Nautiyal, Jonita Gandhi, Javed Ali, Vishal Mishra, and the Nooran Sisters.
