Saiyami Kher, who is known for playing the lead in Anurag Kashyap’s Choked: Paisa Bolta Hain (2020), has been roped in to anchor a special show for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). In the series titled Match Party, Saiyami will be discussing the matches played by different teams.

It is also to be noted that Saiyami will soon be featured in R Balki’s Ghoomer alongside Abhishek Bachchan. In the film, she plays the role of a para-athlete, a left-handed cricket prodigy.

Talking about the series, she said, “Sport is a very integral part of my life. I have been obsessed with cricket since I was a child and have hero-worshipped so many of the players. I have just finished playing a cricketer on screen and wrapped up 2 other films before I start my next film at the end of May. So, the timing for this assignment couldn’t have been better.”

Ghoomer is a film about a sports prodigy and also stars Angad Bedi and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles. Abhishek Bachchan plays Saiyami’s coach, and Angad Bedi plays her love interest. The film, which is currently in the post-production stage, is co-written by Balki, along with Rahul Sengupta and Rishi Virmani, and is inspired by the story of Karoly Takacs, the late Hungarian right-hand shooter who won two Olympic gold medals with his left-hand after his other hand was seriously injured.
