Ayan Mukerji celebrates one year of Brahmastra; says work on sequels in progress 

Director Ayan Mukerji took to social media to celebrate one year since the release of his film Brahmastra, starring Ranbit Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.

Titled Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, the film marked the first chapter of the fantasy action drama Ayan has been planning. The director also had announced that two installments are in the making, which will release in 2026 and 2027.

Ayan took to Instagram and posted a video showing popular action scenes from the movie. The video concluded with the message, “Brahmastra Part Two and Three development in progress."

“Happy 1st Birthday, 'Brahmastra'! Thank you for all the creativity, all the hard work, and for all the lessons in filmmaking, and in life! PS: Will share some early artwork from the next stage of the Brahmastra journey in a bit!" the filmmaker captioned the post.

Brahmastra revolved around DJ Shiva who possesses special powers and embarks on a journey with his lover Isha, to defeat the dark forces.  The film also features Nagarjuna, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, with Shah Rukh Khan making a cameo appearance.  The film was a commercial success

In April, Ayan had also revealed that the two sequels of Brahmastra will be "bigger and more ambitious than Part One" and will be shot simultaneously.

Meanwhile, Ayan is currently working in War 2 with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR for Yash Raj Films. The film will part of the YRF Spy Universe.
