The trailer of Bloody Daddy, starring Shahid Kapoor, Ronit Roy and Sanjay Kapoor, dropped today. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film will premiere on OTT platform Jio Cinemas on June 9.

Shahid Kapoor has wronged Ronit Roy, who plays a cigar-smoking drug mogul in the film. The trailer opens with Ronit calling Shahid, who has apparently robbed him of a consignment of drugs, and telling him to return what is his. In subsequent scenes, Shahid is seen kicking, punching and stabbing goons as he goes on a rampage. Rajeev Khandelwal and Diana Penty play cops in the film and are on Shahid’s trail. In the final scenes, we also see Shahid use a flamethrower.

Here is the trailer

Previously, Shahid spoke about the film’s big scale and its release on OTT and said in a statement, “I had a great time doing an action film. I really enjoyed working with Ali. He understands the genre very well. The dilemma now is that if you’re doing something of this scale on OTT, what do you do on the big screen? So we have to figure that out. But it’s been a blast.”

Bloody Daddy is an official adaptation of the 2011 French film Nuit Blanche (‘Sleepless Night’). The film is about a police detective (Tomer Sisley) who robs some drug couriers. Things take a turn when the dealer he looted from kidnaps his son and promises to return him only when the drugs are retrieved. The detective agrees, just that the drugs are now missing.

Shahid was last seen in Jersey, which failed to perform at the box office. He also has a yet-to-be-titled romantic drama with Kriti Sanon in the pipeline.
