Alia Bhatt made her Met Gala debut wearing a white dress. The actor looked ravishing in an elegant white, flowy dress adorned with 10,000 pearls. She also kept in sync with this year’s theme ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’ as she stuck to a white outfit and wore fingerless gloves in honour of the late couturier, who passed away in 2019.
Apart from posing for the photographers, Alia also posed with the dress’s designer Prabal Gurung. The actor also shared the photos of her look on social media and wrote about being “fascinated by Chanel brides.” She also stated that her look was inspired by supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look. Alia also praised Prabal Gurung for the dress design.
“I wanted to do something that felt authentic (hello, pearls!) and proudly made in India. The embroidery, made with a 100,000 pearls is a labour of love by prabalgurung. I’m so proud to wear you for my first Met. A girl can never have too many pearls… and the right accessories to complement the look which in our case translated to the bow of pearls on my hair. Oh, and it’s white, for my Choup-ED,” she captioned the post.
On the work front, Alia is making her Hollywood debut with the Gal Gadot starrer Heart of Stone. Back at home, she is awaiting the release of Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh. She will also soon start shooting for Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa with Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif.
