On Sunday, the makers of the much-hyped multi-starrer film Project K revealed that veteran actor Kamal Hassan had joined the cast. The film, headlined by Prabhas, is helmed by Nag Aswin. Both the lead actor and director shared messages on their social media accounts to welcome Kamal Hassan to the project.
Talking to his Twitter handle, Nag Ashwin wrote, "This man is a legend, and a legend is what we needed for this role. Can't wait to learn and make something timeless, sir".
While Prabhas mentioned that Kamal Hassan's entry would be something that he would etch in his heart forever, " A moment that will be etched in my heart forever. Honoured beyond words to collaborate with the legendary Kamal Haasan sir in Project K. The opportunity to learn and grow alongside such a titan of cinema is a dream come true moment."
Backed by Ashwini Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies, Project K boasts an eminent cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. Project K, simultaneously shot in Telugu and Hindi, marks Deepika’s Telugu film debut and her first film with Prabhas.
Project K is also set in a futuristic world and deals with the aftermath of war. The film reunites the Mahanati team of Nag Ashwin, cinematographer Dani Sanchez-Lopez and music director Mickey J Meyer.
Project K will hit the screens on January 12, 2024.
