We had earlier reported that actor Akshay Kumar is working in OMG 2. The makers, on Friday, took to social media to announce that the film will hit the theatres on August 11.
Directed by Amit Rai, the sequel also features Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi. The announcement was made with blue-tinted poster featuring Akshay in the appearance of a sage with long hair, resembling Hindu deity Shiva.
Released in 2012, OMG: Oh My God! was about an atheist man (Paresh Rawal) who sues God after his shop is razed. Akshay had portrayed the role of Lord Krishna in the Umesh Shukla directorial. The plot was based on Gujarati stage play Kanji Virudh Kanji, which was inspired by the film The Man Who Sued God.
While the plot of the sequel is kept under wraps, Akshay Kumar had earlier stated that the film will tackle an important social issue.
