The first look from Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 is out. The film is a sequel to the 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which also featured Deol and Patel.
ZEE Studios recently announced a line-up of 28 films across languages. They also released a video showing glimpses of their upcoming films starring actors like Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Yami Gautam among others. Toward the end of the video, we see Deol lifting a wheel of a cart in the air. In the previous film, Deol had a famous scene of lifting and throwing a handpump at goons.
Besides Gadar 2, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, in the attire of a woman, for the film Haddi, is also seen.
Gadar 2 brings back director Anil Sharma, who helmed the first instalment. Gadar was loosely based on the tragic love story between British Indian Army World War II veteran Boota Singh and a young Muslim woman named Zainab against the backdrop of the Partition.
Though plot details of the sequel are currently unavailable, according to reports, the sequel will continue the love story of Tara Singh (Sunny) and Sakeena (Ameesha Patel). The sequel will also feature Anil Sharma's son, Utkarsh Sharma, who appeared in Gadar as Tara and Sakeena's child.
