As the Malayalam film 2018- Everyone is a Hero, awaits the final nod to contest in the Best International Feature Film category at the Oscars 2024, It has now been learned that another Indian film, The Face of the Faceless, headlined by Kerala State Film Award-winning actor Win. C has entered the eligibility list for The Best Original Song and the Original Score categories at the 96th Academy Awards.
The songs Barala Tribal Song, Ek Sapana Mera Suhana, and Jalta Hai Suraj, composed by Alphons Joseph, have entered the competition in the aforementioned categories. It is to be noted that the competition list also comprises a slew of the popular songs of the year, including Dance the Night ( Barbie ), I'm Just Ken ( Barbie), Blood, Sweat and Tears ( Creed 3), Can't Catch Me Now (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes ) among others.
Directed by Shaison P. Ouseph, The Face of the Faceless is based on Sr. Rani Maria. The film's description read, " The Face of the Faceless depicts the trials and tribulations of a woman who rose above the boundaries of her religion, realized the universal oneness, and committed her life to women's empowerment.
