An FIR on the allegations of domestic violence has been filed against Pradhyuman Maloo, a client of matchmaker Sima Taparia, from the first season of the Netflix series  Indian Matchmaking in 2020, states a report.

In the debut season of the series, Pradhyuman was introduced as a picky guy who had rejected about 150 marriage proposals and had high expectations from his prospective bride. He made a comeback in the sophomore season of the show in 2022 after finding a partner off-screen, in actor-model Ashima Chauhaan by himself. Now, as per a report in Hindustan TimesMumbai Police has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Pradhyuman and his family, for allegations of domestic violence filed by his wife.

The episode featuring Pradhyuman in the second season showed that he and Ashima had been together for two years and had a grand wedding in Udaipur, Rajasthan, in February 2022. The FIR report states that Ashima has alleged enduring physical and emotional abuse by her husband and his family. She also alleged in the FIR that her family was blackmailed and harassed by Pradhyuman and his family.

Advocate Anmol Bartaria, representing Ashima, told HT, “The allegations with FIR lodged are grave and concerning with domestic violence and constant mental, physical abuse at its core. The matter is in the investigative stage and should be carried in full swing. Ashima is in the process of taking appropriate legal proceedings against the accused in accordance with the law.” He also said that Aashima was not in the mental state to comment bearing utmost trauma and was with her family in Bengaluru.

Replying to the FIR, Pradhyuman told HT, “I don’t know about it. To the best of my knowledge, we are in settlement talks with lawyers to resolve our marital issues amicably.”
