The trailer of Raj and DK’s upcoming series Guns & Gulaabs was released today. The show stars Rajkummar Rao, Gulshan Devaiah, Dulquer Salmaan and Adarsh Gourav.
The retro-inspired trailer opens in the fictional town of Gulaabganj. We see the late Satish Kaushik in the role of a politician named ‘Ganchi’. Adarsh Gaurav plays his son (‘Chota Ganchi’), eager to earn his father’s respect. There is also Dulquer Salmaan as Arjun, a cop who is cheekily described as ‘The Family Man’. Gulshan Devaiah is in the role of, what seems like, a hired killer called ‘Chaar Cut Atmaram’ owing to the way he kills. Finally, there is Rajkummar Rao as ‘Paana Tipu’. Scenes suggest that he killed somebody with a wench (“Paana”). The trailer's visuals and the music oozes the old world charm of crime cinema of the 80s.

The series also stars Shreya Dhanwanthary, Pooja A Gaur and TJ Bhanu. Guns & Gulaabs is written by Suman Kumar along with Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. The Hindi dialogues are by Sumit Arora.
Filmmaker duo Raj & DK are known for shows like The Family Man and Farzi. This is their first collaboration with Netflix. The series will premiere on the OTT platform on August 18.
