Anurag Kashyap took to Instagram on Monday to reveal the first official poster of his upcoming film Kennedy. The film stars Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone in lead roles. The film has been selected as the only Indian film to be screened at Cannes Film Festival this year. Kennedy will be screened under the Midnight Screenings category at Cannes.

The poster is in hues of red and yellow. The film seems like a classic noir meets a slasher. Rahul Bhat is seen in an overcoat with a revolver in hand. He is wearing some sort of transparent mask. Sunny Leone is seen wearing a black saree, drink in hand and laughing hysterically. The poster has blood stains on it and reminds one of the posters of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill.

The film revolves around an insomniac ex-cop, Kennedy, who is assumedly dead but continues to operate for the corrupt system. “Kennedy is a character that both ripped me apart and stitched me back again,” said Rahul, who plays the lead. He has previously worked with Anurag on Dobaaraa and Ugly. "I think that role in Dobaara did something which got Anurag thinking. He has a commendable perception and surely knows how to extract the best from actors,” added Rahul.

Sharing the poster on his Instagram, Anurag wrote, “Aankh, Cannes sab khule rakhna...Kennedy aa raha hai! ((Keep your eyes and ears open… Kennedy is coming) Here's the official poster of Kennedy, which is set to premiere at Festival De Cannes later next month!”

Anurag’s last theatrical release was Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat, an attempt at a Gen Z love story, starring Alaya F and Karan Mehta. Before that, the director toyed with the sci-fi genre in Dobaaraa, led by Taapsee Pannu.
