Director Ayan Mukerji’s latest directorial Brahmastra Part One: Shiva is currently running in theatres successfully. Recently, the filmmaker opened up about the idea of having a spin-off for Shah Rukh Khan's character from the film.

Brahmastra is conceived as a trilogy, and the first part of the film was released, starring Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt. In addition, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Shah Rukh Khan in pivotal roles. While Shah Rukh's appearance as scientist Mohan Bhargav, was brief, it was met with positive reception, leaving audience wanting for more. It is to be noted that Mohan Bhargav is the name of Shah Rukh's character from his 2004 film Swades as well.

Opening up about the possibilities of the scientist character getting a spin off, Ayan Mukherji revealed how the team was already thinking about the back story. "As we discovered the personality of the scientist, we said, ‘Yaar, we have to do stuff. We have to do the origins story of the scientist!" the director said to The Indian Express. The director also added that team is fascinated with the idea of having a spin-off built for the role. "We were also vibing on that frequency, my assistants and I. So, I guess my response to the spin off demand is that: We are already thinking about it. We are hearing everything and are planning our next moves," he added.

As he discovers more about his past and abilities, the upcoming parts is expected to feature some big names in prominent roles.
