Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Mithun Chakraborty and Sanjay Dutt — all action stars of the 80s — will feature in a desi team-up movie in the style of The Expendables, reports state. According to a story in Bollywood Hungama, the film, conceived as 'the father of action films', has been titled Baap. It will be produced by Zee Studios and Ahmed Khan and directed by Vivek Chauhan.

The film is expected to go on floors this month with a schedule in Mumbai, a source told the portal. It will release during the holiday season next year. An official announcement regarding the film is yet to be made.

Jackie, Mithun, Sunny and Sanjay are all working actors still, though only the last two have featured prominently in action movies of late. Sanjay, especially, has been on a warpath on the big screen, appearing in Bhuj, KGF: Chapter 2 and Samrat Prithviraj.

The Expendables franchise has spawned four films and an ongoing comic book series. The first film, The Expendables, released in 2010, was co-written and directed by Sylvester Stallone, who also starred alongside Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren and others. Later installments in the franchise will see the entry of Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Mickey Rourke, Harrison Ford and more.
