PVR CEO Kamal Gianchandani has denied reports of Brahmastra causing loss to cinema chains. Recent reports claimed that PVR and INOX Leisure's shares dipped on Friday due to poor reviews of Brahmastra. The combined valuation loss is said to have been around Rs. 940 crores. 

Addressing the reports, Kamal Gianchandani tweeted, "It amazes me, the false and negative info about Brahmastra on the internet and in the media. Is it a lack of understanding or is it intentionally designed to cast doubts?”

Sharing the Day 1 earnings of Brahmastra at his chain, he added, “Just so that we don’t miss crucial facts, I can now confirm that PVR Cinemas did 8.18 cr Net BO for Bramhastra on day 1. To put this in context, some of the recent super-hits recorded at PVR day 1, Sooryavanshi - 5.08 cr, Gangubai K - 2.48 cr, RRR - 8.64 cr, KGF 2 - 11.95 cr, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 - 3.26 cr.

Brahmastra collected Rs. 75 crores at the global box-office on Day 1. Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Dharma, the film has an estimated budget of Rs. 410 crores.
