Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale, who has worked extensively in Hindi and Marathi cinema, is admitted in a Pune hospital and his condition is critical. However, there are no official updates on his health and reports have stated that his condition deteriorated in the past few days.
On Wednesday evening, news agency PTI reported that the actor had been “admitted to Pune's Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital a few days back”. The report added that his condition remains critical. The 77-year-old had retired from Marathi theatre in 2016 due to persistent throat issues, but there is no clarity if that illness has any connection to his current hospitalisation.
The actor made his film debut in the 1971 Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Parwana. He is best known for his performances in films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Agneepath, and Khuda Gawah. He won the National Award for Best Actor in 2010 for his performance in the Marathi film Anumati. In 2010, he made his directorial debut with the Marathi film Aaghaat. He was last seen in the Abhimanyu Dassani and Shilpa Shetty-starrer Nikamma.
