The motion poster of Rajkumar Santoshi’s upcoming film Gandhi-Godse Ek Yudh was unveiled today. The film marks the return of Santoshi to the director’s chair after nine years. His last directorial was Phata Poster Nikhla Hero (2013).
Gandhi-Godse Ek Yudh features Deepak Antani in the role of Mahatma Gandhi. Antani has also played Gandhi previously in Gandhiji My Mentor (2016). The role of Nathuram Godse is essayed by Chinmay Mandlekar, who was last seen as Farooq Malik Bitta in The Kashmir Files.
The film’s motion poster shows the war of ideologies between Gandhi and Godse. The film is written by Asghar Wajahat and Santoshi.
Santoshi is known for iconic films like Ghayal, Damini, Ghatak, Khakhee, Andaz Apna Apna, Lajja, China Gate, Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani and The Legend of Bhagat Singh. He has another film, Bad Boy, in the offing. It stars Mithun Chakraborty's youngest son, Namashi Chakraborty.
Gandhi-Godse Ek Yudh will be released in theatres on January 26.
