BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Minister of Home Affairs Narottam Mishra has objected to the saffron costumes worn by Deepika Padukone in the sweltering Pathaan song, Besharam Rang.
Taking issue with the depictions in the song, Narottam Mishra has asked the makers to correct the costumes and visuals. If the changes are not made, Mishra told the press, they will consider denying a release to Pathaan in Madhya Pradesh.
"The outfits worn in this song are highly objectionable," Mishra says in Hindi in a video posted on his official Twitter handle.
"It is clear that polluted mindsets led to the filming of this song. Anyways, Deepika Padukone has been a supporter of the Tukde Tukde gang in the JNU incident. Therefore, I would like to request that they should correct the visuals and costumes of the song. Or else whether permission to release this film in MP should be given or not will be a debatable question.”
In another video, Narottam Mishra is heard talking about SRK's recent visit to Vaishno Devi temple to seek blessings for the launch of Besharam Rang and Aamir Khan performing Kalash puja at his new office.
Mishra, known for his frequent condemnations and boycott calls against Bollywood celebrities, said there is nothing wrong with worshipping gods of any faith.
"The society is now aware," he is heard saying in the video. "If they have now understood this, it's good. Everyone has the right to worship according to their belief. One can worship any god but just don't hurt the faith of others. That's it," he said.
