Actor Ayesha Takia's husband Farhan Azmi recently said that he and his wife faced racism and he was subject to a "dirty sexual comment" by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officers at Goa airport.

In a series of tweets, posted on April 4, Farhan said that the altercation started when a CISF officer allegedly tried to touch Ayesha to tell her and their son to stand in another line for the security check.

As per Farhan, the incident occurred when he and his family were boarding a flight to Mumbai from Goa.

"I was boarding for Mumbai on @Indigo6E 6386, 18:40 hrs flight & these racist officers RP Singh, AK Yadav, commander Rout & senior officer (SP category) Bahadur purposely singled me & my family (wife & son) immediately after they read out my name out loud to the team," tweeted Farhan.

He added, "Altercation started when an armed male officer at the security desk tried to physically touch & tell my wife, son to stand in another line while all other families were standing together for security. All I said to him is to not dare touch any female and maintain distance @CISFHQrs."

Tagging Mumbai Police and Goa airport in another tweet, he said, "It didn’t stop here! Senior officer Bahadur then signalled the @CISFHQrs guard with his hand who was ready to frisk me. This racist **##** made a dirty sexual comment while he was checking my pockets, which had only a 500₹ note (video on record)."

Expressing his ordeal, Farhan also said that a senior officer, looked at his boarding pass, "read his name aloud to his team" and said "isko udhar karo, ye maharashtra nahin hai" (Take him there this is not Maharashtra).

In a later tweet, Farhan demanded an inquiry via CCTV footage by Goa airport authorities and Mumbai Police, and "suspend the officers immediately."

Farhan also said that he has mailed his complaint to DG Sheel Vardhan Singh of CISF, New Delhi, and requested a copy of the CCTV footage.

On April 5, Goa airport took to Twitter to apologise for the inconvenience caused to Farhan and his family while travelling. "Please be rest assured this matter shall be duly looked into," they tweeted.

Farhan also thanked the airport authorities for their quick response.
