Extremely disrespectful: Yami Gautam responds to review of her Dasvi performance

Actor Yami Gautam Dhar, who was recently seen in Dasvi, has strongly reacted to a review of her performance in the film. Yami plays a cop in the social comedy which highlights the importance of education.

Taking to Twitter, the actor said that she found the review by a portal "extremely disrespectful."

Yami posted a screenshot of a part of the review that read, "Yami Gautam is no longer the dead girlfriend in Hindi films, but the combative smile is starting to get repetitive." 

Irked, the Uri actor wrote, "I usually take constructive criticism in my stride. But when a certain platform keeps trying to pull you down consistently, I felt it necessary to speak up about it."

She added, "My recent films & performances include A Thursday, Bala, Uri etc. & yet this is qualified as a 'review' of my work! It's extremely disrespectful!"

Stating that it takes "years of hard work for a self-made actor to keep proving her mettle," Yami asked the portal not to review her performance in the future. "I'll find grace in that and it'll be less painful," she wrote.

Dasvi stars Abhishek Bachchan as a jailed politician taking his 10th exams. Yami plays a tough superintendent named Jyoti Deswal. The film also stars Nimrat Kaur. Dasvi was released on Netflix and Jio Cinema on April 7.
