Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra will open theatrically on September 9, 2022. The first of a planned trilogy, Brahmastra stars Ranbir Kapoor as Shiva, a modern man who comes to possess ancient powers and manipulate fire. The film unites him with Alia Bhatt as Isha and Amitabh Bachchan as his mentor figure. The cast also features Akkineni Nagarjuna as an archaeologist, and Dimple Kapadia and Mouni Roy in key roles.
Following several delays, Brahmastra has locked its release date for next year. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "BRAHMASTRA': 9 SEPT 2022 IN CINEMAS... While on #Brahmastra, the much-awaited biggie arrives on the BIG SCREEN on 9 Sept 2022... The FIRST PART of the *3-part film franchise* will release in *five* #Indian languages: #Hindi, #Tamil, #Telugu, #Malayalam, and #Kannada... In #3D."
A fan event to launch the motion poster of Brahmastra is slated for later today.
According to reports, the story of Brahmastra revolves around a secret society meant to protect ancient weapons. The story takes place in contemporary times but harks back to Indian mythology. The film, shot on a massive budget, is co-produced by Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios.
