Brad Pitt is gearing up for the release of Heart of the Beast, a survival adventure thriller from director David Ayer. Recently, the actor made a revelation about his co-star in the film that is sure to tug at the heartstrings of canine-loving audiences. Promoting the film at a theatre, the actor can be seen telling the audience, "Our dog's name in the movie is Odin. His real name is Uber. He's a really, really special beast. I got to love him immensely."
The actor added, "He was originally a search-and-rescue dog and was put up for retirement, and then our dog whisperer, Andrew Simpson, found him in New Zealand, where we were filming, and in five weeks, already had him doing the choreography for our first day of shooting. But he is spectacular. He's amazing, and I'm really moved by him, and I think you will be too."
Described as an "intense adventure thriller," Heart of the Beast explores the deep bond between a Special Forces officer named James Belmont and his combat dog. The two survive a plane crash, only to undergo a brutal situation that forces them to fight for their lives in the wilderness of Alaska. Together, they deal with other animals and natural elements in a landscape that is considered harsh and that is likely to cause anyone's death. The upcoming film also stars JK Simmons and Anna Lambe.
Produced by Paramount Pictures in association with Domain Entertainment and Gulfstream Pictures, the film is slated for a September 25 release in theatres across the country.
Brad Pitt was last seen in 2025's F1, which turned out to be a major blockbuster at the box office. His upcoming projects include The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, a sequel to the actor's own 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
