The upcoming X-Men film, directed by Jake Schreier, is expanding, with Asa Germann set to play Warren Worthington III/Angel. For Germann, this isn't his first superhero story, as he has starred in the series Gen V. He was last seen in Scream 7.
The film is set to star Sadie Sink (Jean Grey), Kit Connor (Cyclops), Samara Weaving (Emma Frost), Christopher Abbott (Charles Xavier/Professor X), alongside debutante Maya Boyd (Storm), Adam Driver (Mr Sinister), and Obsession actor Inde Navarrette (Rogue). Disney has scheduled the film's release on May 5, 2028. Jake Schreier is directing the film.
The character Angel was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and was introduced in the first issue of X-Men in 1963. According to the story, Angel is bestowed with wings to fly, which are replaced by metal projectile-shooting wings after the villain Apocalypse maims him.
The upcoming project is set to mark the first X-Men film for theatres after Disney’s 2019 acquisition of the television and film assets at 20th Century Fox. Until the acquisition, 20th Century Fox held the exclusive rights to the franchise.
