On Tuesday, Warner Bros Pictures dropped the teaser for its upcoming film, Remain, directed by M Night Shyamalan and starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Phoebe Dynevor in the lead roles. The Remain teaser shows the romantic moments in the lives of a couple, played by Gyllenhaal and Dynevor, before things become creepy with creaking doors and his character having eerie visions.
The film is an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' supernatural romance novel of the same name. Warner Bros Pictures calls it "an unprecedented collaboration between two of the world’s most creative minds: best-selling author Nicholas Sparks and visionary filmmaker M Night Shyamalan."
Gyllenhaal plays Tate Gordon, a reclusive architect who seeks solace in a quiet coastal town in order to finish his new project. However, an alluring youngster (Dynevor) draws him from his shell and "into the center of a deadly mystery that hangs over the town," according to an excerpt from the official logline. "She's unlike anybody he's ever met," reads the tagline.
Remain also stars Ashley Walters, Jay OSanders, and Julie Hagerty.
Best known for his horror films and psychological thrillers, such as The Sixth Sense, Signs, and The Village, Shyamalan has directed the film from his own screenplay, based on Sparks' novel. Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan, Marc Bienstock and Theresa Park are the producers for the film, with Sparks serving as an executive producer.
On the technical front, it has cinematographer Adolpho Veloso, music director James Newton Howard, production designer Sam Lisenco, casting director Douglas Aibel, editor Noëmi Preiswerk, costume designer Caroline Duncan, and music supervisor Gabe Hilfer.
