Bringing dead people back to life is not unusual in the Dexter: Resurrection series. Following the return of Krysten Ritter, who played the slain Mia, or Lady Vengeance, latest reports state that David Zayas is returning to the series. Zayas is returning as the fan-favourite Angel Batista.

However, the makers have yet to confirm how he returns in the series. It is not yet known whether Batista survives his tragic death in season 1 or if he returns as a ghost, a trope popular in Dexter.

Michael C Hall: Dexter's deviations from the code have humanised him

In addition to series lead Michael C Hall, the show also stars Uma Thurman as Charley, Brian Cox as the New York Ripper, Bokeem Woodbine as Capt Mixon, Dan Stevens as the Five Borough Killer, and Nona Parker Johnson as Fiona Mixon.

The first season follows Dexter sustaining a bullet injury from his son and setting out for New York City to make things right. The second season finds Dexter (Hall) caught between two killers—one notorious, the other terrorising New York in unexpected ways—both grappling with the same problem: a midlife crisis. Meanwhile, Harrison (Jack Alcott) stays on course to seek justice as the father and son face their darkest chapter.
