While Obsession has become one of the highest grossing horror films of all time, garnering positive reviews from fans and critics, it wasn't an entirely rosy experience for one of its stars. Inde Navarrette, who stars as Nikki, revealed the one scene from the film which she refuses to watch, which gets its inspiration from a surprising source.

Speaking about the scene, in a statement to the press, Navarette said that the scene where Bear (Michael Johnston) is sleeping in a corner, with Nikki watching closely is the scariest for her. "This is the scariest part of the film. I refuse to watch this scene. I was looking at the corner. I was like, I know what we're talking about, but yeah, this is the uncanny valley makeup.”

She added, "Curry had the idea of kind of playing with that part of your brain when something looks human, but there's a part of your brain that recognizes that it's not, and that is called the uncanny valley."

Navarrette also reveals the Joker an inspiration for her makeup in the scene. "Kate Oja, who is the makeup artist for this, really did a good job because it's terrifying. We, in a Joker-esque way, emphasized the lining of my lips and just kind of exaggerated certain features to give it this inhuman aspect. So we put black around my pupils to emphasize the eyes and just kind of all of the little lines in my face."

Curry Barker has written and directed Obsession, which is set to premire on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar, on October 30.

CE's review of the film reads, "Obsession belongs to a new class of horror films that unnerves you by making ordinary people behave in a slightly off-putting yet deeply unsettling way that strikes a big dose of ‘unease’ into your heart."
