Divorce does not always mean the end of a relationship between two people, especially when they share children. For some former couples, maintaining a family bond after separation requires a conscious effort to put their children first and redefine what their relationship looks like beyond marriage.
Actor Tobey Maguire, best known for playing Spider-Man in Sam Raimi’s trilogy, recently took on an unexpected role by officiating the wedding of his ex-wife, jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer, to music executive Geoffrey Ogunlesi in Hawaii. The ceremony took place on October 10, just weeks after Maguire and Meyer’s divorce was legally finalised on September 21.
Meyer and Ogunlesi exchanged vows at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai, with their family and several celebrity guests in attendance. Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos, Courteney Cox, Rachel Zoe and Kate Hudson were among those reported to have attended. Meyer’s three children, including the two she shares with Tobey Maguire, were also present.
The former couple’s relationship has remained amicable since they announced their separation in 2016, after nine years of marriage. They met in 2003, when Maguire was filming Seabiscuit, and married in Hawaii in September 2007. Meyer filed for divorce in 2020, while Maguire filed his response in July 2025. Their marriage was formally dissolved more than a decade after their separation.
Meyer and Ogunlesi, who were first linked in 2023, announced their engagement in August 2024. The couple welcomed a baby daughter earlier this year, making her Meyer’s third child and Ogunlesi’s first. Ogunlesi is the founder and CEO of the Ogunlesi Group, an entertainment and music management company whose roster includes artists such as Young Thug and Myles Frost.
