Just two weeks after the premiere of the first season of Off Campus, Prime Video announced its renewal on Friday. The makers also announced that after adapting Elle Kennedy's The Deal, the second season will be based on the author's The Score novel from the series. From Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli) and Hannah Wellsy (Ella Bright), we move on to Allie Hayes (Mike Abdalla) and Dean Di Laurentis' (Stephen Kalyn) story.
Season one of the series has made it abundantly clear that showrunners Louisa Levy and Gina Fattore have not adhered to the book's story completely for the TV adaptation. A lot of changes—including the character Justin Kohl being a musician and not a hockey player and the season already teasing Allie's and Dean's romance—have already sparked buzz amongst those who watched the series after reading the books.
As Hannah and Garrett have found their happy ending, we now move on to Allie and Dean in Off Campus season 2. At the end of season 1, their steamy romance came to a standstill when Allie went on to establish their casual relationship, sleeping with Dean's arch nemesis, Hunter Davenport.
While filming is set to begin this June, those who have completed Off Campus don't have 365 days of patience for season 2. Meanwhile, Elle Kennedy's book, The Score, gives us an idea of what to expect in season 2. This article contains spoilers on what to expect in season 2 based on the novel. The book starts with Allie's breakup with Sean and her subsequent hook-up with Dean, which season 1 already covered. So season 2 is expected to establish Allie and Dean finally calling it quits on their casual run and moving on to an actual relationship.

Dean’s past comes back to haunt him with Briar U’s new coach
Trouble begins for Dean when Briar U gets a new hockey coach, who turns out to be the father of his ex-girlfriend from high school. They have bad blood because of his relationship with his ex-girlfriend. He is made to coach high school hockey players by his coach, where he meets a 10-year-old, Dakota, interested in the sport.
Dean reveals details about his traumatic past
Dean opens up to Allie about being in a relationship with a girl with mental health issues who forced intimacy upon him. She then gets obsessed with him, dreaming of an engagement and future with him, which he cuts short by breaking up with her. She then threatens to take her life when her father steps in and takes her to the doctor to treat her mental health. This is also explained as the reason behind why Dean doesn't do serious relationships.
Allie and Dean navigate family expectations and emotional baggage
Allie introduces Dean to her father, but he is not impressed by him. Allie's mother died when she was thirteen, and so she only has her father. On the other hand, we already got a glimpse of Dean's parents and family in season 1. Dean explains to Allie that he comes from an affluent background.
A devastating loss pushes Dean into self-destruction
The most shocking twist of the season comes with the demise of an important character. (This is a huge spoiler, so skip if you want to wait for the series.) Beau Maxwell, Dean's best friend with whom he shares his birthday, passes away in an accident, causing him to take to alcohol and drug abuse. When he misses Allie's opening night at the theatre, she breaks up with him.
Dean fights for redemption and finds his way back to Allie
Dean eventually fails a drug test and is kicked out of the team. He is then motivated to piece his life back together. He starts by making up with his high school ex-girlfriend, who apologises to him. He then decides to become a high school hockey coach, a decision supported by his parents. Dean and Allie patch up after he picks himself up.
