Critics, who have watched the film through exclusive previews, are calling it one of the director’s finest works in decades. The first reactions to the trailer have been overwhelmingly positive as well, even as several viewers call the movie Spielberg’s best film in 20 years. Many praised the film for being “thrilling, deeply emotional and impeccably acted," while others said it is filled with “mystery and wonder” and proves that “nobody does it like Spielberg."

In the film, Blunt plays a TV meteorologist who is suddenly overcome by a mysterious extraterrestrial force. She is later joined by Josh O’Connor’s character, who becomes determined to uncover the truth about intelligent life beyond Earth. The cast also includes Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo.
One of the standout glimpses of the trailer features Spielberg saying, “We are not the only intelligent life in the universe,” hinting at the film’s central theme surrounding extraterrestrial existence.
