Matt Reeves has officially begun unveiling the expanding ensemble of The Batman Part II, introducing a host of new additions through a series of posts on X. Joining Robert Pattinson in the much-anticipated sequel are stars like Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry, and Sebastian Koch. While Reeves kept the reveals cryptic and stylish, the announcements have sparked major curiosity around the new faces set to enter Gotham. Here’s a look at the actors confirmed for the sequel and the characters they are expected to portray.
Harvey Dent is Gotham’s charismatic district attorney, known for his sharp legal mind and commitment to fighting organized crime. Often portrayed as one of Gotham’s few honest public officials, Dent believes the system can still save the city. However, his deep internal conflicts and tragic downfall eventually transform him into the villain Two-Face, a criminal obsessed with duality and chance.
Officer Martinez is a Gotham City police officer who works closely with Lieutenant Jim Gordon during the events of The Batman. Unlike many officers within the corrupt GCPD, Martinez appears dependable and willing to assist Gordon in uncovering the Riddler’s crimes.
Jim Gordon is one of Gotham’s most respected law enforcement officers and Batman’s closest ally within the police department. In The Batman, Gordon is portrayed as intelligent, calm, and morally grounded, working alongside Batman to solve the Riddler murders despite widespread corruption in the GCPD.
Bella Reál is Gotham City’s reform-minded mayoral candidate introduced in The Batman. Unlike many corrupt politicians in Gotham, Bella is portrayed as sincere, optimistic, and determined to rebuild the city through transparency and public service. She openly challenges entrenched corruption and becomes one of the few civic leaders Bruce Wayne sees as genuinely hopeful.
Alfred Pennyworth is Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler, guardian, mentor, and closest confidant. A former soldier and highly skilled caretaker, Alfred raised Bruce after the murder of his parents and continues to guide him emotionally and strategically as Batman.
The Penguin, also known as Oswald Cobblepot, is one of Gotham City’s most influential and dangerous crime figures. In The Batman and the spin-off The Penguin, he is portrayed as an ambitious gangster navigating Gotham’s violent criminal underworld following the city’s collapse.
Harvey Dent’s father is traditionally depicted as an abusive and deeply troubled man whose violent behaviour profoundly shapes Harvey’s psyche. In several comic interpretations, his cruelty during Harvey’s childhood contributes to the emotional trauma and split personality that later define Two-Face.
