At the premiere of The Drama on Tuesday, Zendaya opened up to Variety about the third season of Euphoria. She revealed that she has "seen a little bit" of the upcoming season and that filming for it "was a whirlwind".
Further elaborating on why she called it a whirlwind, she said, "I did what I do in eight months in, like, four months. It was like trying to get eight episodes in at once. It just flew by me.” She then said, "I'm excited" about the show's final season. “I hope it turns out beautifully," said Zendaya, who won two Emmy awards for her work in the show as Rue.
Zendaya's upcoming work seem to be coming around the same time. With The Drama and Euphoria scheduled for April 3 and April 12, respectively, she also has a number of other much-anticipated films. A glimpse of her character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Dune: Part Three was unveiled on Tuesday through short teasers. Meanwhile, she also has Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.
With her upcoming work keeping her in the news on one hand, she has also been reported on for her marriage to Tom Holland, which reportedly happened in a very private ceremony.
Season 3 is set to come more than four years after the second season concluded in early 2022. The upcoming instalment features eight episodes and brings back one of television’s most star-studded ensembles.
Zendaya returns as Rue Bennett, reprising her Emmy-winning role, joined again by series regulars Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, and Eric Dane. Colman Domingo will also appear as a guest star.
In the new season, the show is fast-forwarded by five years, where Rue is living in Mexico and paying off her debt to drug dealer Laurie (Kelly), while Cassie (Sweeney) and Nate (Elordie) are married and residing in the suburbs. Levinson previously disclosed that Maddy (Demie) works at a Hollywood talent agency and Jules (Schafer) attends art school.
The new season expands its cast as well, with Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry—both previously recurring—now stepping into series-regular roles. New additions include Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Toby Wallace. Returning cast members from the earlier seasons include Alanna Ubach, Daeg Faerch, Dominic Fike, Melvin Bonez Estes, Nika King, Paula Marshall, Sophia Rose Wilson, and Zak Steiner.
