Acclaimed filmmaker Steven Spielberg, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming sci-fi film Disclosure Day, has now shared details about his next project. While he remained tight-lipped on whether it would be a western film after revealing last year that a movie in the genre has "eluded (him) for decades," he did reveal that a "kick a**" film is in development.

Speculations are rife about the Jaws director working on a western film, but Spielberg said during a keynote conversation at SXSW, "I can’t reveal anything right now."

Spielberg also said he is planning to shoot the film in Texas, though that may have been a wink to the audience, as SXSW takes place in Austin. When probed about further details, he added, "There will be horses. There will be guns. There will be no tropes, I can tell you that. There’s going to be no stereotypes."

When discussing details on Disclosure Day, the director was also asked about former US President Barack Obama's recent comments where he said aliens are real.

"When President Obama made that comment, I thought, ‘Oh my god, this is so great for Disclosure Day. This is amazing," he said. "Then two days later, he stepped back from the comments and said what he believed in was life in the cosmos, which, of course, everybody should believe in. Because no one should ever think that that we are the only intelligent civilization in the entire universe."

He further elaborated on UFOs saying, "All of you here should read about this and see the plethora of documentaries about this dating back to 2018. I don’t know any more than any of you do, but I have a very strong suspicion that we are not alone here on Earth right now."

Headlined by Emily Blunt, Disclosure Day seemingly follows the appearance of aliens becoming a world wide event after a TV anchor, is possessed by them. The involvement of a tech businessman and people fighting to let the truth out into the world will are also part of the plotline. Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo also star. The film is set to release theatrically on June 12.
