On Thursday, Prime Video released the trailer for The Boys season 5, which is set to end the popular superhero series. The upcoming season brings back Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Antony Starr as Homelander, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Erin Moriarty as Starlight, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko, Tomer Capone as Frenchie, and Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk.
Homelander seeks immortality with V-One, a version of Compound-V, which is the serum that produces superpowers. Meanwhile, Homelander’s world is affected by his erratic and egomaniacal whims. Elsewhere, Mother’s Milk, Hughie, and Frenchie are spending time in the so-called 'Freedom Camp' prison. And elsewhere, Annie/Starlight finds it difficult to deal with the overwhelming force of the Supes. However, when Butcher appears again, hellbent on killing all the Supes with a virus, he triggers a series of events, which is expected to change the world for good.
An adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's comic book series, The Boys' first season premiered in 2019 on Prime Video. It is developed by Eric Kripke, who serves as the showrunner and executive producer. Also serving as executive producers are Ennis and Robertson, in addition to Seth Rogen, James Weaver, Evan Goldberg, Neal H Moritz, Phil Sgriccia, Pavun Shetty, Paul Grellong, Michaela Starr, David Reed, Jessica Chou, Judalina Neira, Ori Marmur, Gabriel Garcia, Jason Netter, and Ken F Levin.
A co-produced venture between Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film, The Boys season 5 is set to have a sequential release. The first two episodes will drop on Prime Video on April 08, Wednesday, followed by the rest of the episodes on a weekly basis. The final episode is slated for a May 20 release on the streaming platform. Meanwhile, here is a link to the trailer:
