It would seem like the first rule of Fight Club has been broken! Brad Pitt and Edward Norton, who starred in David Fincher's 1999 cult classic, were spotted together at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The reunion happened on June 25 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, where the two watched the USA take on Turkey in an intense Group D match.

The actors were caught on camera amidst a seemingly deep conversation, as they watched the topsy-turvy match that ultimately ended in a 3-2 victory for Turkey, even as the USA scrapped through to the knockout phase.

As soon as photographs of the actors surfaced on social media, netizens celebrated it with humorous reactions, some of which have become viral now. Referencing Fight Club's famous plot twist, where Pitt’s Tyler Durden turns out to be a figment of the Norton character’s imagination, fans and sports outlets made jokes and memes out of their reunion. ESPN’s SportsCenter and fans joked that "Edward Norton was just talking to himself in the stands." Several memes pointed out that by making a public appearance, the actors were actively breaking the film's most sacred rule: “Do not talk about Fight Club.”

Interestingly, the fan frenzy over the high-profile reunion has also fuelled speculation for a sequel, with Fight Club 2 hashtags trending on social media.

Unfortunately, however, Norton and Pitt are not set to make a comeback anytime soon for the prospective film. Hollywood insiders reveal that there are no scripts, plans or active developments for a Fight Club sequel. For now, fans will just have to content themselves with Tyler Durden and Edward Norton memes and the fact that the USA is through to the knockout phase of the FIFA World Cup.
