The cast for the cosmic sci-fi thriller Starman, led by Brendan Fraser, has expanded with Jeff Daniels. Josh Wakely is penning and directing the new film. Daniels, according to reports, plays Ed Watkins, the powerful and protective co-leader of a transformational company that he built with his invaluable partner and visionary technologist Tom Adams (Fraser).
Delving further into the plot, the makers describe Adams as the 'next great frontier' of humanity, who gets stranded a million miles away from Earth and he is running against time.
Most recently seen in Netflix's limited series A Man in Full, Daniels' notable feature credits include Gettysburg, The Hours, The Martian, Terms of Endearment, and Good Night and Good Luck. He will next portray former US President Ronald Reagan in the Cold War thriller The Brink of War, opposite Jared Harris and JK Simmons. He also shares screen space with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in the fifth season of the acclaimed Apple TV drama The Morning Show.
Grace: A Storytelling Company production, along with Sight Unseen, is backing Starman, which is set to enter production later this year.
