Four years after Scott Mann presented a thrilling and heart-stopping experience with Fall, the makers have upped the ante and heights in the sequel Fall 2 titled Deadpoint.

The first trailer released by Lionsgate movies opens with a chilling fact on what high altitudes to do the body. "At 11,000 feet, oxygen drops to 13.7 per cent, heart rate increases, blood pressure rises, breathing becomes rapid, panic accelerates dehydration, which leads to hallucinations, impaired judgements and fear," it says. We then see Jax (Harriet Slater) who is scaling perilous heights to get a backpack which is stuck in their climb—at 5,000 feet up in the mountains.

The plot of the film reads, "After losing her fearless sister Hunter, a deeply damaged Jax sets out on a dangerous climb with Hunter’s old friend to honor her memory. As they tightrope walk the perilous planks of Mount Kwan, a terrifying rockslide leaves them stranded 5,000 feet above ground. In the face of vertigo-inducing sequences, dark truths, and cruel twists, Jax must confront her deepest fears head-on to fight for survival and closure."

Arsema Thomas and Tom Brittney also star in the sequel, which has been directed by The Spierig Brothers.

The first film followed two best friends Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (Virginia Gardner) who decide to climb a 2000-foot-tall, abandoned tower. Soon, they find themselves stranded on it after the corroded ladder breaks.

Fall 2: Deadpoint is slated to release in theatres on September 2.
