Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow reminisced moments from their time on the iconic show F.R.I.E.N.D.S, discussing their growing friendship, cameo appearances from major stars on the show and even hinted at what they want from the popular show in the near future.
In Variety's 'Actors on Actors' interview, who admitted that it's been a year since they met in person shared how "fun" the show was. "That all still feels like yesterday, doesn’t it?," she probed to which Kudrow replied, "No, it doesn’t to me. So I have watched it now." Kudrow, who had for many years avoided watching the show, finally took the plunge to watch all ten seasons and said how she "loved it with all her heart."
"I’d end up sitting there for three hours, and then it’s like two in the morning: “I need to go to bed! This is bad!” But, oh, it made me so happy to watch it. And, man, you’re all good. Holy cow! You were really good, Jennifer. It’s such a ridiculous thing to say to people! Like, of course," she shared.
In the course of triggering their nostalgia on working in the multi-camera set-up and audiences of the era, Kudrow expressed her interest in working on "another one," possibly a reboot. While they did not discuss on what it could be, Kudrow proposed an idea if she, Aniston and Courtney Cox could star in it. "Girlfriends. Let’s pitch it. Let’s workshop it in front of all of these wonderful people," Aniston said, exciting audiences. However, the ideas are still in the air and are yet to be put on paper.
F.R.I.E.N.D.S ran for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004 and was widely popular among viewers with new generations continuing to discover and discuss the sitcom. Besides the above-mentioned actors, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer also starred on the show. The series finale aired on May 6, 2004, and was watched by around 52.5 million American viewers, making it the fifth-most-watched series finale in television history. It was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman. The cast members returned for a reunion special titled Friends: The Reunion, which premierd on HBO Max in 2021.
