Warner Bros have released the final trailer for the upcoming fantasy thriller The End of Oak Street. The film, which stars Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor in the lead, is set to release in theatres on August 14.
The film follows the residents of a neighbourhood, who have to fight to survive, after the entire neighbourhood is transported to the past. Writer-director David Robert Mitchell, the inspiration for The End of Oak Street's story came from an intriguing place. "I'd always wanted to make a dinosaur film. A few years ago, I was walking through our neighborhood. I was passing by this house and this garage, and it was just an interesting little alleyway and some garbage cans, and I was struck by this image of a dinosaur there. I thought, oh, I want to write a film that feels the way that this feels to me in this moment."
Director-producer JJ Abrams, who is known for his work in the Star Wars and the Star Trek franchises, said that the story is about family, resilience, and the bonds that hold them together in the face of the unimaginable.
Apart from Hathaway and McGregor, The End of Oak Street also stars Maisy Stella and Christian Convery.
The crew of the film includes composer Michael Giacchino, director of photography Michael Gioulakis, editor John Axelrad, production designer Maya Shimoguchi.
Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, David Robert Mitchell, Matt Jackson and Tommy Harper produce the film along with Abrams. Bad Robot and Jackson Pictures are backing the film along with Warner Bros Pictures, which is distributing it.
