Actor Adah Sharma has been dubbed the promotional ambassador for Evil Dead Burn in India. The sixth instalment in the long-running horror franchise that is directed by Sebastien Vanicek hit theatres on Thursday. However, Adah caught an early screening for the film as part of its promotional activity. A clip that has gone viral shows the actor as she takes on the challenge of watching the film alone in an empty cinema hall. Adah and Sony Pictures India shared the clip on social media.

It is worth noting that Adah Sharma made her acting debut with a role in the horror film 1920, which became commercially successful. Her promotional gig for the franchise horror film continues the recent trend of Hollywood studios hiring popular actors for film promotion in India. As India has become one of the most lucrative box office markets for Hollywood, global studios realise that simply dubbing films into regional languages is not always enough to guarantee hits. To truly capture local audiences, they involve Indian actors in film promotion. Adah Sharma suited Evil Dead Burn probably because of her background in horror.

Beyond horror, Adah is known for her work in films such as the Commando franchise and The Kerala Story. Up next, the actor has a superhero film titled Super Velli, and she is set to make her debut in Marathi cinema with a role in Gajra.

Coming back to Evil Dead Burn, the film stars Souheila Yacoub in the lead role, alongside Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Tandi Wright, and Erroll Shand. The film follows a youngster grieving her husband's death who seeks solace at his parents' secluded residence, only for it to take a nightmarish turn as a demonic force possesses each of the family members. It has grossed more than $6.5 million at the worldwide box office, according to reports.
