Hollywood and audiences around the world are mourning the passing of Catherine O'Hara. The two-time Emmy award winner is known for her roles in films and television shows, such as Home Alone, Beetlejuice, and Schitt's Creek. However, the actor has a different role for which she would like people to remember the most for.
After O'Hara's passing, Viola Davis shared a video on her Instagram where a fan can be heard interacting with the actor. In the video, the fan tells O'Hara that she is his all-time favourite actor. Eventually, he asks her, "You have been in so many legendary roles. When all is said and done, which one role would you most like to be remembered for?" Pop came the reply, "Mother of my children."
Speaking of which, O'Hara is also known for her onscreen mother characters, none more iconic than the one in Home Alone. The performance impressed the film's director Chris Columbus so much that he told The Hollywood Reporter recently that it would not have worked without her "extraordinary performance".
Macaulay Culkin, who played Catherine O'Hara's onscreen son in Home Alone, also paid an emotional tribute to her. In his post, Culkin called her "mom," and said "I love you" and "I'll see you later". Culkin also shared one picture of his and O'Hara son-mother characters from Home Alone as they are about to embrace each other and another similar photograph featuring their grown-up versions from real life.
Speaking of which, O'Hara was married to Bo Welch, a production designer and director. The two met on the set of 1988's Beetlejuice, directed by Tim Burton, and got married four years later. They remained married until her passing and have two sons, Matthew and Luke Welch.
