Netflix continues to build anticipation for the second season of its live-action One Piece with a new round of character introductions from Baroque Works, the shadowy and lethal organisation that will pose a major threat to the Straw Hat Pirates as they enter the Grand Line.
Following personalised reveals for Charithra Chandran’s Miss Wednesday, David Dastmalchian’s Mr 3, Camrus Johnson’s Mr 5, Jazzara Jaslyn’s Miss Valentine, Daniel Lasker’s Mr 9, and Sophia Anne Caruso’s Miss Goldenweek, the spotlight has now shifted to Lera Abova’s Miss All-Sunday.
Introducing the character, the series describes her as “the number two of Baroque Works and the last person you’d want as your enemy.” Another tease adds, “Branded a devil, armed with knowledge, and always three steps ahead,” hinting that Miss All-Sunday is a force capable of altering the course of the seas themselves.
Season 2 will once again follow Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his Straw Hat crew, Zoro (Mackenyu Arata), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero Gibson), and Sanji (Taz Skylar), as their journey takes them deeper into the Grand Line. The new chapters will see the pirates travelling to iconic locations such as Drum Island, all while continuing their quest for the legendary treasure left behind by Gol D. Roger, the One Piece.
Joe Tracz serves as showrunner for the series, with Ian Stokes joining him in the same role for the second season. One Piece is developed by Netflix in collaboration with Shueisha, with Tomorrow Studios producing the live-action adaptation. Meanwhile, Netflix has officially renewed its live-action adaptation of One Piece for a third season ahead of the premiere of the second season, scheduled for March 10.
