As the camera pans across the dilapidated building of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, we hear the enchanting and wise voice of Professor X (Patrick Stewart) in the new Avengers: Doomsday teaser. The teaser, unveiled on Tuesday, shows us the professor along with his frenemy Magneto (Ian McKellen) and Cyclops from the X-Men world. The teaser also features iconic symbols from that film franchise, including the school's name board and Charles Xavier's 'X' wheelchair. We then see an even more aged Xavier and Erik, with the latter having longer white hair, joining hands to defeat a larger evil. Scott Summers (James Marsden), as Cyclops, is then seen burning down something with his specially abled eyes.

Earlier this year, the first cast reveal teaser for Avengers: Doomsday unveiled Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden as a part of the magnum opus' cast. The actors, who have largely stayed away from superhero films for nearly twenty-five years, had only Stewart and Grammer making brief appearances in earlier MCU projects. Now returning in comic book-accurate costumes, they reprise iconic roles including Professor X, Magneto, Beast, Nightcrawler, Mystique, and Cyclops.

Directed by the Russo Brothers, the upcoming film, written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely, will feature heroes from the Avengers, Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men joining hands to square off against Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr). The film's star cast also includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hiddleston, Channing Tatum, and Pedro Pascal.

The two-part Avengers film, with the first being Avengers: Doomsday, hits theatres on December 18, 2026, while its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is slated for a release on December 17, 2027.
