Viola Davis and Julius Tennon's JuVee Productions will adapt the Afro-fantasy graphic novel by Sebastian A Jones The Untamed: A Sinner's Prayer for the big screen.

The Untamed follows a character known as The Stranger, who returns to the disorderly town of Oasis, which is set in the fantasy world of Asunda. After entering into an unholy deal to collect the seven souls responsible for the death of his wife and child, he encounters an orphan Niobe, who turns his quest for vengeance into a path of redemption.

Speaking about the project, Davis and Tennon said that they had predicted that this content would have a global appeal due to the 'inclusivity' in the fantasy world of Asunda when Sebastian shared the narrative 10 years ago. They added, "We believe that everyone is ready for a hero like Niobe, a badass Black woman whom Sebastian has brilliantly crafted to storm the world."

Davis, known for her roles in The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, and G20, will produce the project with Tennon, Simon Swart and Andrew Cosby of Homeworld Entertainment.
