Daniel Radcliffe, along with his Harry Potter trio, was given an unimaginable pitch for a film back when they were shooting for the franchise. The Guns Akimbo actor opened up about this film opportunity that came to him during his appearance on Hot Ones promoting his Broadway return in Every Brilliant Thing, which comes shortly after the premiere of The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins.

The idea was Wizard of Oz, but the roles presented to them were the catch. "One of the worst ideas that I’ve ever heard: During Potter, somebody came to us and, I think, asked—like they wanted to cast all three of us—me, Emma [Watson] and Rupert [Grint]—in a remake of Wizard of Oz, where Emma was Dorothy, I can’t remember what Rupert was, and I just remember I was going to be the lion, but also, he knew karate. I was like a karate-kicking Cowardly Lion,” Radcliffe said.

A mere teenager, Radliffe didn't know much about the story of Oz but was sure that remake was not a good idea. He added, “I was like 14 or 15, and I was like, ‘I don’t know a lot about the world, but this is a bad idea. This should not be made.'”

Radcliffe comes fresh off the release of Merrily We Roll Along on the film front. The movie is a live-action adaptation of the four-time Tony Award-winning musical revival, which also featured Lindsay Mendez and Jonathan Groff. Having premiered just a month ago, The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins is developed by Robert Carlock and Sam Means and is an NBC American sports sitcom.
