Alexander Ludwig and Emma Roberts are all set to star together in a new drama titled Hal, inspired from the story of the creation of Convoy of Hope, a humanitarian organization.
Helmed by Mark Williams, known for Ozark, The Accountant, Hal will be scripted by Mark Edwin Robinson and centres around journalist Hal Donaldson, a journalist whose difficult childhood shapes his belief that storytelling is his way forward. His bond with Doree, a talented musician, becomes a source of strength as his work carries him into regions overwhelmed by pain and injustice.
Experiencing human suffering up close begins to challenge his role as a mere observer. As the power of words alone proves insufficient, Hal feels compelled toward a deeper purpose — a journey that ultimately sparks the birth of Convoy of Hope.
Founded in 1994, the organisation has donated hundreds of meals and clean water to millions. It is being run in multiple countries and are known for their work for providing relief during disasters.
Details regarding the other cast members are being kept under wraps. The film is set to go on floors in Atlanta on February 9.
Ludwig is recognised for his characters in Vikings and many instalments of the Bad Boys franchise. The actor was recently cast in HBO’s The White Lotus season 4. He can also be seen in Marked Men from Nick Cassavetes. Up next, he will be starring in Unabom, Night Comes, Killing Castro, among others.
On the other hand, Roberts is awaiting the release of American Horror Story season 13, The Technique and Marriage Material.
