Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow are coming back together for a sequel to their 1997 film Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. The second part was confirmed to be in development in June, with 20th Century Studios sharing photographs of Sorvino and Kudrow returning to the set for the film. It has hogged the spotlight again to the spotlight as the two lead actors appeared at the Disney fan event D23 on Friday.
At the event, clad in matching outfits, the actors revealed that fashion is very much a part of their characters, they are still owners of a Beverly Hills-based boutique store, and they are seeking love in the Romy and Michele's High School Reunion sequel. "We’re officially Disney princesses," said Kudrow as she appeared to be in character. Meanwhile, her co-star Sorvino shared, "I always knew we had princess energy."
Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow's reunion for the upcoming sequel has caused much excitement among film buffs on the internet, including celebrities. One of the public figures to share their excitement about the sequel is singer-actor Shruti Haasan. Taking to her Instagram Stories space, Shruti shared Sorvino and Kudrow's image from the Disney event and wrote, "I cannot wait."
Shruti Haasan also shared a news about the actors coming back for the sequel and added, "Let's goooooo!!! Practical Magic 2 and then this???" For the unversed, Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock are also coming back as siblings Gillian and Sally Owens for a second part to the 1998 film Practical Magic.
Coming back to Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, the upcoming sequel also has role reprisals from actors Janeane Garofalo, Alan Cumming, Julia Campbell, and Camryn Manheim. The cast includes Keegan-Michael Key, Breckin Meyer, Rob Huebel, Nathan Lee Graham, and Patrick Warburton. The makers plan a direct-to-streaming release for the film.
