Actors Kate Walsh (Grey's Anatomy) and Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day), among others, have rounded out the star cast of the indie drama Hal, starring Alexander Ludwig and Emma Roberts.

The others alongside Walsh and Patrick to join the film are Matthew Goode (Department Q), Taylor John Smith (Where the Crawdads Sing), Garret Dillahunt (No Country for Old Men), Colm Meaney (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Maurice Compte (Narcos), Justin Bartha (The Hangover), Nicolette Sheridan (Desperate Housewives), Kevin Chapman (Person of Interest), Robert Treveiler (The Accountant), Ian Bohen (Yellowstone), Jason Kennedy (E! News), and Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley). The other cast members previously announced are Leslie Bibb, Ernie Hudson, Aidan Quinn, and Jeffrey Donovan.

Inspired by the true events that led to the founding of the humanitarian organisation Convoy of Hope, the film follows Hal Donaldson (Ludwig), a journalist who has been shaped through hardships and believes that his voice is instrumental for the way forward. His encounter with Doree (Roberts), a virtuoso, and their relationship steadies him personally as he suffers setbacks in his career. Once he begins feeling that his words alone aren't enough to bring about a change, he turns to his true calling that shapes his words into action, resulting in the creation of Convoy of Hope. Zero Gravity Management is producing Hal.
