After many months, the makers of Kristen Stewart's Flesh of the Gods have released an update for the vampire thriller. Wagner Moura, who has been basking in the fame for his recent performance in the Oscar-nominated The Secret Agent, has now onboarded the cast. He has replaced Oscar Isaac who left the film reportedly due to scheduling conflicts.

Announced in 2024, the upcoming film is being directed by Italian-Canadian filmmaker Panos Cosmatos, known for Beyond the Black Rainbow and Mandy.

The film revolves around Raoul (Moura) and Alex (Stewart), a married couple living in a lavish high-rise apartment in the dazzling world of 1980s Los Angeles. Each night, they leave behind their luxurious lifestyle to explore the city’s vibrant, neon-soaked nightlife. Their lives take a dramatic turn when they encounter the enigmatic Nameless and her wild, thrill-seeking entourage. Drawn in by the allure of excess and danger, Raoul and Alex find themselves swept into a surreal and intoxicating world of pleasure, chaos, and violence.

Stewart is back in a vampire film after her acclaimed performance in the Twilight franchise.

The project is being produced by Adam McKay and Betsy Koch under HyperObject Industries, in collaboration with Jonas Katzenstein and Maximilian Leo of augenschein Filmproduktion, as well as Stewart and Maggie McLean representing Nevermind Pictures.

Moura recently scripted history by becoming the first Brazilian nominated for the Oscar award for Best Actor for The Secret Agent. It also earned him a Golden Globe and Cannes award for his acting performance. His other credits include Netflix's Narcos, which put him on the global map, Civil War and Dope Thief. Up next, he has Louis Leterrier’s horror film 11817 and the drama The Last Day where he will star opposite Alicia Vikander.
