Milly Alcock aka Kara Zor-El is pulling off a John Wick. In the first trailer of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, begins on two tragic notes—Supergirl losing her home planet and every human she has loved, and then witnessing her best furry friend being poisoned by villain Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts). It puts her in a bitter predicament. Facing the sinking feeling that Krypto has only three days to live, she travels across the world and universe to find an antidote.

The trailer also shows the House of the Dragon star battling the Brigands, teaming up with Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), coming face-to-face with Jason Momoa's Lobo, the infamous intergalactic bounty hunter and teaming up with him to kill the sinister villains, and grab the antidote from them before it is too late.

The official logline of the film reads, "When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice. " David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham also star with a cameo from David Corenswet aka Superman himself.

Man of Tomorrow: Aaron Pierre cast in James Gunn's Superman sequel

Based on Tom King and and Bilquis Evely's DC comic series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Supergirl (2026) is is the second film in Gunn and Peter Safran's rebooted DC Universe after last year's Superman, starring David Corenswet in the titular role and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. The new film is helmed by Craig Gillespie, who has directed films like I, Tonya (2017) and Cruella (2021), from a script by Ana Nogueira.

Ramin Djawadi, who has previously composed music for Iron Man (2008) and Game of Thrones, is composing music for the film. Gunn and Safran, co-CEOs of DC Studios are producing the film. Warner Bros Pictures, Troll Court Entertainment Production, and The Safran Company are the banners backing the film.

On the technical team, the film has cinematography by Rob Hardy, production design by Neil Lamont and editing by Tatiana S Riegel.

Supergirl will release on June 26, 2026.
