Actor Aldis Hodge will continue his collaboration with Amazon after the hit series Cross, as he has been roped in to star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in a sequel to Road House for Amazon MGM Studios.
The film, directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by Will Beall, also stars Dave Bautista and Leila George.
The first film, a reboot of the 1989 movie of the same name headlined by Patrick Swayze, had Gyllenhaal play an ex-UFC player turning a bouncer at a Florida Keys road house. The Road House sequel will be the fourth movie in the franchise after the 1989, 2006, and 2024 films.
Along with Amazon MGM Studios, Charles Roven, Alex Gartner of Atlas Entertainment, and Gyllenhaal and Josh McLaughlin's Nine Stories Productions are producing the film.
Hodge will be seen headlining Cross' second season, which is set for streaming next year. He can next be seen in DC's Black Adam, One Night in Miami, and Straight Outta Compton.
